ACADEMIC and LEARNING SUPPORT
Please note that Stuart Step Up and Stuart Support+ DO NOT replace services offered through the Learning Center. This is an additional service that families can add to their child's schedule.
Tutoring (K-12)
We are excited to offer tutoring for students after school from 3:15-4:15 PM. For simple homework support, we have Upper School students available to help for $20 per hour (available in packages of 5 sessions). This trimester we will also have a select group of faculty available at $100 per hour (available in packages of 5 sessions). Both of these options are offered on demand with no long term commitment so can be purchased and redeemed when needed with a week’s notice for scheduling.
Stuart Step Up (K-2)
Understanding the critical role of fluidity with skill development in academic success, we have designed a program for learners in kindergarten to second grade that includes dedicated time for more targeted instruction after school, from 2:45-3:15 PM. Students in this program will meet in small groups of no more than three students three times a week for 30 minutes to focus on extra-skill development in math and phonetics. Our experienced instructors will employ research-based strategies to engage students and cultivate their reading and math abilities, laying a solid foundation for future academic achievements.
Cost: This program will cost $3,500 a semester ($7,000 for the year) and is open to all students.
Prerequisite: Students do not need a formal evaluation; they need a recommendation from the learning support team to qualify for this program.
Stuart Support+ (Grades 2-12)
Time: Daily / Individually Scheduled
The purpose of this program is to foster executive functioning skills, which are essential for success both inside and outside the classroom. Students in these grades will have the opportunity to participate in daily 30-minute academic coaching sessions of one to three students led by qualified teachers which will be scheduled before, during, or after school based on availability and interest. While these sessions are not subject-area based, instructors will use the student's coursework to support her in her efforts to take ownership of her own learning and partner with the student to promote self-advocacy and self-determination. The sessions will focus on developing organizational techniques, time management skills, and effective study habits, empowering students to take control of their learning to ensure they understand what is required, including support with short- and long-term assignments. We believe these programs will provide valuable assistance to our students and instill confidence and a love of learning. Our commitment to student success remains unwavering, and we are excited to embark on this journey of growth and achievement together.
Cost: The program cost is $2,500 per trimester for 5 days a week or $1,000 per trimester for 2 day a week meetings.
Prerequisite: Students do not need a formal evaluation with the learning support team to qualify for this program.

All students (Early School through Grade 4) who are going to after care, enrichment, music/voice lessons, will walk with staff to the After Care room at dismissal. After Care, 3:00-6:00 PM
After Care will be thought of in three age ranges, so that activities - indoors and out, are planned with and around students' developmental ages and interests in mind.
Our earliest of friends, 1-3 years old, will have snacks, outdoor activities, and games/arts and crafts, that promote curiosity and togetherness, as well as creativity and fine motor skills.
More Independent friends, ages 4-8 years, will have time outdoors on the playground that suits their size and gross motor skills, as well as games and crafts that draw just for that age range.
The elders of Lower School, 9-11 years, can plan with the teachers the activities, short- and long-term, as well as games, that allow the girls to be with friends, yet have a little something to do that doesn’t feel like being with the “little kids.” Time with friends in the same age range.
