Upper School students discover their "why" at West Virginia University Purpose Center

Upper School students discover their "why" at West Virginia University Purpose Center

As part of the National Center for Girls’ Leadership initiative to partner with higher education institutions, six juniors and sophomores recently visited The Purpose Center at West Virginia University—the first and only center of its kind on a college campus. In a daylong workshop with Purpose Center Outreach and Programming Manager Cate Schlobohm, our students learned about their top five CliftonStrengths. Understanding these strengths provides a tool in students’ journey of purpose and understanding their “why;” they provide a common language for how we show up for ourselves and others. Throughout the day, students engaged in activities and discussions on how to utilize their CliftonStrengths in everyday life—including academics and leadership. They also had the opportunity to have lunch with current WVU students, ride on the PRT, and tour campus the next day. We are grateful to Cate and WVU for sharing their time and expertise with us!
