Stuart math faculty present at national math conference

This month, STEM Coordinator Anna Kachmarski and Upper School math teacher Megan Reeves presented at the 2026 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Conference in Indianapolis.

Their session, "Slice by Slice: Exploring Cross Sections Across the Curriculum," showcased Stuart's integrated approach to math education. The presentation explored how a single concept, cross sections, can connect geometry, algebra, measurement, and spatial reasoning across grade levels.

Kachmarski and Reeves shared classroom strategies and rich tasks designed to help students experience math not as isolated units, but as a coherent, meaningful story. Their approach reflects Stuart's commitment to building confident mathematical thinkers who see themselves as capable, creative problem solvers.
