Sophomore leadership endorsement candidates reflect on internship experiences during virtual symposium

Sophomore leadership endorsement candidates reflect on internship experiences during virtual symposium

The National Center for Girls' Leadership at Stuart Labatut's Learning Lab internship program wrapped up its inaugural year with a virtual internship symposium on Wednesday. After reflecting on their experiences in a talk show style format with "host" Bonnie Milecki, interns then made pitches to ninth graders who will be going through the interview process to get placed in internships for next year.

Through Labatut's Learning Lab, internships are available in the following departments: Business, Communication and Marketing, Athletics, Facilities and Sustainability, Technology, Counseling, Admissions, Advancement, DEI, NCGLS, Auxiliary Programming, and the Arts. With the majority of placements in offices that deal with behind-the-scenes operations, projects included: developing new budget systems, designing training modules for Admissions Ambassadors, sports scheduling and budgets, logo development and photoshoot consulting, COVID protocol management and sustainability research, data analysis and technology tutorials, and exploring a career in psychology and wellness. While the tasks and projects varied by internship and department, the students all gained valuable life skills and unanimously expressed gratitude for having their voices heard and for seeing their work in action at Stuart.

The symposium was held in Cor Unum for a limited audience and broadcast via live stream to the Upper School.
