Olympian Priscilla Loomis brings a message of resilience, faith, and purpose to the Cor Cordis Wellness Summit

Olympian Priscilla Loomis brings a message of resilience, faith, and purpose to the Cor Cordis Wellness Summit

The second annual Cor Cordis Wellness Summit offered Upper School students a purposeful pause within the academic year and an opportunity to reflect on wellness through the lens of Sacred Heart values. Grounded in Stuart’s commitment to educating the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, the full-day experience invited students to step away from their daily routines and engage with wellness as both a personal practice and a shared responsibility.

Throughout the day, students participated in small-group, interactive workshops designed to honor individuality, reflection, and connection. Sessions ranged from yoga, strength and conditioning, and sound healing to journaling, vision boarding, songwriting, cooking, and movement. Together, these experiences affirmed that well-being takes many forms and is shaped by intention, self-awareness, and care for one’s whole self.

This year’s Summit held added significance as it coincided with National Girls and Women in Sports Day. As part of the program, students heard from Olympian Priscilla Loomis, who challenged them to reconsider success not as a single defining moment but as a practice built through consistency, resilience, and self-belief. Drawing from her journey to the Olympics and now as an entrepreneur and on-air personality, Loomis emphasized the importance of showing up daily, protecting one’s sense of worth, and refusing to be limited by others’ perceptions. She spoke candidly about faith as a grounding force during moments of doubt, encouraging students to remain rooted in values that call them toward purpose, confidence, and growth. Her message reinforced that leadership and wellness are deeply connected to honoring the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Now in its second year, the Cor Cordis Wellness Summit continues to stand as a signature Upper School experience. Rooted in Sacred Heart formation, it invites students to care for their well-being with intention, lead with integrity, and recognize that tending to one’s inner life is essential to a life of purpose and leadership.

Notable quotes from Priscilla's keynote:
    •    “You are allowed to be greater than someone else’s perception of you.”
    •    “You are not meant to play small.”
    •    “Control what you can control, especially how you speak to yourself.”
    •    “No one is allowed to disrespect the excellence in your DNA.”
    •    “Never be ashamed of a faith that calls you to live with love, light, and purpose.”

    •    “It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be you.”
