Ninth grade English students perform pop-up skits from Romeo & Juliet around campus

Spontaneous theatrical performances from our talented ninth grade English classes popped up all over the Stuart campus as they performed scenes from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Hallways, stairwells, the Serpentine Parlor, Friendship Forest, and many other clever locations were the venues of choice for Ms. Cutalo's students. These performances were the culmination of an English project that required students to use their close readings of Shakespeare's text to make artistic choices about scene location, costuming, and blocking. The response to the performances was a resounding, "Bravo!"
