Hadassah Broughton named state champion in national poetry competition
On March 12, Hadassah Broughton was named state champion in the Poetry Out Loud competition and will go on to represent New Jersey in the national finals competition in Washington, DC this May.
Poetry Out Loud, a national program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation, encourages high school students to engage with great works of poetry through memorization and recitation. Participants are judged on both accuracy and performance.
