Second grade students earn second place in chemistry poem contest

Second grade students earn second place in chemistry poem contest

Congratulations to second grade students Brigid and Megan on earning second place in the K-2 Grade category of the Princeton ACS National Chemistry Week Illustrated Poem Contest! Their submissions were chosen based on the quality of both the poem and the artwork and how they captured the 2024 theme, "Picture Perfect Chemistry."

To qualify, all entries had to be poems of no more than 40 words in styles such as Haiku, Limerick, Ode, ABC poem, Free verse, End rhyme, or Blank verse. Submissions were judged on their incorporation of the NCW theme, word choice, colorful artwork, originality, creativity, and overall presentation.

Thanks to classroom teacher Aileen O'Shea and STEM teacher Kate O'Brian for collaborating on this opportunity for their students.
