Fourth grade leadership program works to builds agency in students' own leadership journey and development

A leader is always learning and given opportunities to focus inward on her own growth and her own unique skill sets that she brings to any environment. As a program designed specifically for girls, our fourth grade LEADLIKEAFOURTHGRADER signature experience not only prepares our students for Middle School by developing a sense of agency in their learning and their leadership development, but it helps to instill in our students the awareness that they are all leaders and can lead in different ways.

We asked some of the fourth graders about the lessons they learned from their first LLA4G experience and what they enjoyed:

“I really liked when we did our LeadLikeaFourthGrader puzzles that showed all of the skills that we learned about being a leader, like truthful, kind, honest. And then, we would write all of those qualities down.” - Charlotte

“I think that LeadLikeaFourthGrader helped me organize and prioritize what I'm doing better, because I used to be very messy.” - Elaine

“I really enjoyed the time management, because I use it a lot now.” - Annabel

“The LeadLikeaFourthGrader helped me make better choices and think before I do something.” - Emma

“I thought prioritizing my time was nice, because now, I know when to go to soccer practice.” - Palmer

“I liked playing the games that we played in drama class. I thought it was fun.” - Olivia

“I really liked when we played the games and I liked it when we had to time ourselves when we did the tasks." - Sophie

“I liked it when we were in the gym playing that game where it gave me a lot of communication with other people.”- Lydia

“I really like when Ms. Jones came and we had to make people that were unique.” - Saiuri
