Two Stuart Middle School students attend Equity and Inclusion Summit

Two Stuart Middle School students attend Equity and Inclusion Summit

Two Stuart Middle School students, Ella and Campbell, recently attended the fourth annual MS Equity and Inclusion Summit at Gill St. Bernard’s School. The day consisted of a full day of keynote presentations, group activities, and thoughtful discussions designed to empower seventh and eighth grade students with the resources to be authentic advocates for others and themselves. Ella and Campbell both shared reflections on the experience:

“The summit was full of kids with bright ideas who were eager to learn and speak on the different topics that were covered.” - Ella

“I got the opportunity to learn about others' interests in my breakout group with the use of ChatGPT. I learned that AI can replicate famous people's music and faces. AI isn't the best at making the music sound very heartfelt because It doesn't have the emotion of humans but it is still interesting on how it can come up with the lyrics. I enjoyed going and am glad I did.” - Campbell

The Office of DEIB at Stuart regularly helps students get more involved in programming related to diversity, equity, and inclusion by offering opportunities to attend conferences, workshops and committees that attract other like-minded students who are interested in building a more inclusive community.
