The Latin Hispanic Heritage Club kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month in the Upper School

On Thursday, September 18, the Latin Hispanic Heritage Club kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with an educational presentation on the month-long celebration, along with some sweet treats at gouter! Hispanic Heritage Month starts on September 15 and ends on October 15, a month that recognizes the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. September 15 also marks the independence of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile also celebrate their independence days soon after.

At Stuart, Hispanic Heritage Month is about more than history; it’s about showing pride in who we are, building connections with each other, and celebrating a true sense of belonging! It’s our chance to share our traditions, uplift our voices, and create a community that honors our culture while inviting others to learn and celebrate with us. LHHC brought a traditional sweet treat, pan dulce (sweet bread), to share with the Stuart Community! Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡©πŸ‡΄πŸ‡¨πŸ‡·πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡πŸ‡³πŸ‡¨πŸ‡΄
