Making some “good trouble” at Stuart - Meet our Student Diversity Board!
In late fall, the Student Diversity Board announced its members for the 2021-2022 school year! To be considered for the board, students had to submit an application sharing their own thoughts on diversity, equity and inclusion and complete at least one interview with a Stuart faculty or staff member. The SDBoard has already begun meeting and are excited to focus on initiatives specific to each of their divisions:
- Lower School will focus on developing a system for LS students to communicate when they do not feel included or welcomed.
- Middle School will focus on: 1. Establishing affinity groups; 2. Devising ways to help ensure new students feel welcomed; and 3. Diversifying the MS curriculum.
- As the Chairs of the SDBoard, Upper School students will help to guide and support the LS and MS SDBoard members, serve as the student voice representative among faculty/staff and administrators, and focus on diversifying the US curriculum.
