Describe what it means to be a Stuart girl

To be a Stuart girl means to be a leader and learn to have confidence in yourself. Throughout my time at Stuart I've grown in both my leadership and confidence because of the support and opportunities Stuart offers. I've stepped into roles I never thought I would and have made connections in so many aspects of my life.

Take us a through a typical day in your life during a season that matters the most to you

Day in my life during the fall/field hockey season!

  • Wake up at 7:00 and get ready for the day.
  • Get to school around 7:45 and talk with friends on the senior couches until either morning meeting, advisory, or class year meeting.
  • Go to first and second period.
  • Gouter! Hang out with my friends and have team gouter for field hockey.
  • Go to third period.
  • Flex! I usually have a club meeting or meet with a teacher.
  • Then I go to lunch with my friends!
  • Go to fourth period.
  • During office hours I usually hang out in the senior section with friends and relax for a few minutes before going down to the locker room to get ready for practice.
  • Field Hockey practice!!
  • Go home shower and eat dinner.
  • Homework and goodnight!

When have you felt most courageous or confident at Stuart?

I think one of the times I felt most confident is when I am touring families, speaking on a panel, or just speaking about my Stuart experience. Since I've been able to see all the positive impacts Stuart has had on me, it has been easy for me to share my experience and feel confident telling my story.

Which Sacred Heart Goal do you think shows up most in your daily life (and how)?

Goal 4: The building of community as a Christian value. One of the most unique things about Stuart is the community. It is very tight knit and the bonds you make with your peers and teachers are so special. I see this in my daily life as I walk through the halls or at practice with my friends and teammates. We have fun with each other, but are also able to go to each other for advice and meaningful conversations.

What advice do you have for future Stuart students?

Don't be afraid to get involved in anything and everything. Since freshman year I've tried out so many different clubs, service opportunities, and even a new sport. If I hadn't done so I would have never met some of my closest friends and found some of my passions and favorite activities. I've also had so much fun and made some of my favorite memories being involved in so many different things!

What song would be on your “Walk Into Stuart” playlist?

"The Climb" by Miley Cyrus

What’s your favorite spot on campus — and why?

The turf. Sports have always been a big part of my life and I am often found on a field. My memories on the Stuart turf actually start before I began at Stuart. My club soccer team plays at Stuart, so I've been on the turf many many times. Then, coming to Stuart I've spent a lot much time on the turf playing field hockey and lacrosse, on Green and White day, sitting on the turf in the spring, etc. Some of my favorite memories are on the Stuart turf and it will always be a special place for me.

Do you have a favorite piece of Stuart blazer flair/pin?

I actually have two favorite pins that I have on my blazer. I have a heart shaped ASP pin that I got at my first time attending ASP. ASP is one of my favorite opportunities Stuart offers. It is so meaningful and an unforgettable service experience that draws me back every year. The second one is my smile pin. This year as part one of our Operation Smile activities we gave out smile pins to raise awareness. Operation Smile is an organization that means a lot to me that I've been a part of since 5th grade and I'm traveling to India for a surgical program with them, so that pin is also one of my favorites.
