Varsity basketball continues strong run with two wins

Varsity basketball earned two strong wins last week, continuing their momentum with disciplined team play and balanced scoring.

On Saturday, January 24, Stuart secured a 41–33 victory over Bridgewater-Raritan in Princeton. Carmela Arana led the scoring with 11 points, while Taylor States delivered an all-around performance with 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. Lia States added 4 points, 8 rebounds, and a game-high 7 assists. The Tartans pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Bridgewater-Raritan 13–11 to seal the win.

The team followed up with another win on Wednesday, January 28, led by a standout performance from Lia States, who finished with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Carmela Arana contributed 12 points and 2 assists, and Leila Hernandez-Lewis added 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in a strong team effort.

Stuart returns to action on the road for the first leg of the Prep B tournament at the Montclair Kimberley Academy Middle School (201 Valley Road, Montclair) on Sunday, February 1, with tip-off scheduled for 12:00 PM.
