Indoor track places fifth overall in Prep B; Giselle Jean-Marie named high jump champ

On Wednesday February 22, the indoor track team competed at the Prep Track Championships meet in Tom's River. The team place fifth in Prep B, with a total score of 35 points.

In the high jump, Giselle Jean-Marie continued her winning ways to place first with a jump of 5'2'" to be named the Prep B champion for a second year in a row.

In the 55 hurdles, Giselle placed second, with a time of 9.48 and in third place was freshman Kirsten Brenya with a personal best of 9.71. Sophomore Eliska Bohmanova ran 11.49 for a personal best. In the 55 dash, Kirsten ran 8.02  to place fifth and fellow frosh Jada Hutchinson raced to a time of 8.23. Both girls ran the 200 meters. Kirsten had a time of 29.65 and Jada placed sixth with a personal best of 29.47. In the 400, sophomore Allison Lee placed tenth with a time of 1:13.43.

In the 800 meter run, Lola Lopez-Spencer placed sixth with an time of 2:43.55 to score for the team. Freshman Ashley Batz raced to an personal best of 6:58.31 in the 1600.

The shot put competition had Giselle place third with a throw of 26' 08" for her third scoring event. Sophomore Samara Grant threw 25' 07".05 for an over 1-foot improvement. Junior Sarah Glickson threw 24' 11".25 for an 2-foot improvement.
