October 20 is the Feast of Mater Admirabilis, a celebration across Sacred Heart schools around the world for Mary, "Mother Most Admirable.” Each Sacred Heart School has a painting of Mater Admirabilis, in tribute to the original fresco at the Trinità dei Monti in Rome. Stuart's painting, located in the front hall directly opposite the main entrance, is the only Sacred Heart school with Mater painted on a window. Stuart's Mater window itself has had a global impact: The RSCJs in England and Wales were inspired by how "we are invited to look through Mater; to look beyond her. Her outline points us to the greenness and freshness beyond, just as the foliage and sunlight somehow give her a new, different hued luminescence." In honor of the image of Mary - who is captured in a contemplative moment and reminding us of the importance of the quiet inner pause and reflection- the European Network of Sacred Heart Schools organized the Uniting in Prayer project, which was a global exchange of COVID prayers between the schools. At Stuart, students in Marty Arsenault’s Sacraments class translated the English prayer into French, Spanish and Chinese, which are shared below. 

Prayer for the Feast of Mater

Trusting in the love and continued blessing of God and the intercession of Mater Admirabilis we pray:

Lord, God,

We thank you for all the blessings in our life.

We ask that you open us to your healing presence. Help us to recognize that we are not alone in this health crisis. Help us to become aware that together with those in our families and communities we are united with all those across the earth. Strengthen everyone’s physical, mental, and spiritual health and guard our overall well being especially those of the front line workers. Send your comfort and consoling love to the people who have lost loved ones to the COVID-19 virus. Inspire our leaders to make wise choices that protect the health and safety of our families and communities.

We ask this with confidence in your unconditional love for us.

Amen

Faisant confiance à l'amour et à la bénédiction continue de Dieu et à l'intercession de Mater Admirabilis, nous prions:

Seigneur Dieu

Nous vous remercions pour toutes les bénédictions de notre vie.

Ayúdanos a darnos cuenta de que junto con aquellos en nuestras familias y comunidades estamos unidos con todos los que están en la tierra.  Fortalece la salud física, mental e espiritual de todos y proteja nuestro bienestar en general, especialmente los de los trabajadores de primera línea. Envíe su comodidad y amor consolador a las personas que han perdido a sus seres queridos por el virus COVID-19. Inspire a nuestros líderes a tomar decisiones sabias que protejan la salud y la seguridad de nuestras familias y comunidades. Lo pedimos con confianza en su amor incondicional por nosotros.
