Stuart welcomes SHCOG Visiting Team

Stuart welcomes SHCOG Visiting Team

This week, Stuart welcomed the Sacred Heart Commission on Goals (SHCOG) Visiting Team to campus. Their visit began on Sunday, November 9, with a special mass in the Front Hall with members of the Board of Trustees, the SHCOG Steering Committee, and Stuart’s leadership team. For the duration of their visit, the team met with students, parents and guardians, faculty, staff, leadership, alumnae, and board members to reflect back to us what they heard in our SHCOG Self-Study report. By the conclusion of their time with Stuart, they were fully embraced by our community and felt the joy and love that makes Stuart a magical place. The team was impressed with our holistic approach to providing a rigorous academic and leadership program as well as our strong sense of belonging. The quoted one teacher in their reflection who said, "Once you're here, you're ours." This was a beautiful time for us to reflect as a community on our work toward living out the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria every day, in all we do. Thank you to everyone who participated in this self-study process! The big takeaway: Stuart educates the heart as well as the mind.

We’d like to thank Meg Steele (Head of School, Sacred Heart Schools, Chicago, IL), Emily Avendt (Primary and Lower School Director, Academy of the Sacred Heart, Bloomfield Hills, MI), Elizabeth Coleman (Head of Lower School, Sacred Heart Schools, Chicago, IL), Catherine Karrels (Head of School, Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, Bethesda, MD), and Patricia Swenson (Trustee, Academy of the Sacred Heart, Grand Coteau, LA, and former head of Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, Houston, TX) for bringing their vast experience, insight, and dedication to this mission.
