Stuart celebrates rich diversity of the community with Flag Ceremony

Stuart celebrates rich diversity of the community with Flag Ceremony

Our school boasts over 140 students, faculty and staff whose roots lie outside the United States. This year, the annual Flag Ceremony featured over 60 flags that were proudly processed into Cor Unum and put on display as a powerful backdrop representing the diversity of the Stuart community for the Mass & Installation of Head of School Julia Breen Wall.

This much-loved event was begun by former head of school, Sr. Fran de la Chapelle in 1999. It is an amazing tribute to the rich international diversity of our Stuart community and honors our first and second generation students, faculty, and staff who have emigrated here from all over the world.

Diversity is core to our mission. We intentionally welcome and embrace students of all faiths and backgrounds so our students develop a global perspective and passion for justice that will transform the world in which they live. We felt blessed to be able to host this tradition again, and make it available virtually, so our entire community can take part together.
