New Chief Financial and Operating Officer Announcement

New Chief Financial and Operating Officer Announcement

Last fall, Stuart engaged the executive search firm Carney, Sandoe & Associates to place the school's next Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO) following the retirement of Rose Neubert at the close of this fiscal year. After an extensive search with a robust applicant pool, Stuart interviewed nine exceptional candidates in two rounds before bringing three finalists to campus for a full day of interviews. We are thrilled to announce that effective July 1, 2024, Stuart alumna Michelle Evaul '94, who has served as Chief of Staff at Stuart since 2022, has been named Stuart's next CFOO.

Before returning to Stuart, Michelle spent nearly 20 years with BlackRock, Inc., assuming leadership positions in internal audit and enterprise risk management. Most recently, she served as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Risk and Quantitative Analysis group, responsible for the talent management, technology, and operations of 300 full-time staff with a global footprint. Michelle's extensive experience includes budgeting and forecasting, data analysis, change management, third-party oversight, operational resilience, and reputation management. Known for building high-performing teams and developing talent, she co-chaired the department's Human Capital Committee and led its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master of Business Administration, each from Villanova University. Outside of Stuart, Michelle serves on the Finance Council of St. David the King, Roman Catholic Church in West Windsor.

When asked what drew her to the CFOO position at Stuart, Michelle shared, "My Stuart education is what shaped my professional career and the person I am today. When I left BlackRock to explore a second career in education, I aspired to serve in a leadership capacity that combined my business acumen and passion for education. Being able to lead the finance and operations activities for a school that has had such a profound impact on my life is much more than a job; it is a vocation. I am grateful to God for leading me back to Stuart, and I am ready to get to work to continue to offer the best educational experiences for our students."

Please join us in congratulating Michelle Evaul. Since returning to Stuart, Michelle's talent, experience, and dedication to excellence have had a tremendous influence on our community. We look forward to the continued benefit of her leadership, vision and commitment to the Stuart mission.
