Blood drive collects 30 units to help save 90 lives

Blood drive collects 30 units to help save 90 lives

Thanks to a partnership between the Stuart Parent Association and the Upper School for the Blood Drive, a total of 30 units of blood will go to help save 90 hospital patients.  The eagerness to have a blood drive back on campus, especially as a student-driven event, resulted in new donors making up 75% of the total participants. Many thanks to event-chair Katie Janiszewski and Upper School advisor Samantha Ryan for coordinating this community-wide initiative. A special thanks also goes to Ashley Stewart, associate director of leadership giving, for sharing her testimony to help personalize the critical need for blood donors for the Stuart community. Her young son, Jackson, was given a better quality of life thanks to the generosity of strangers through blood donation.
