"Her poems were so fun and we could actually understand them, especially the one about the raccoon."
Stuart girls of all ages were entertained and inspired by this year's Lies, Light, McCarthy Visiting Author Sarah Kay, storyteller and spoken word poet who is best known for her 2011 TED talk, "If I Should Have A Daughter," which has been seen over ten million times online. Ms. Kay enchanted all three divisions with stories and poems that provided highly relatable wit and wisdom for all. Senior Scholars enjoyed a private lunch with our special guest ahead of her public reading and book signing. After lunch, Ms. Kay's spoken word poetry captivated the audience of Upper School students, faculty, staff and visitors from the public. We're so proud and grateful to have hosted the delightful and creative Sarah Kay! Click here for photos.
