The Stuart 3/4 CYO Basketball team just completed a strong season, finishing in first place for the regular season of the Small School Division of the Catholic Youth Organization of Mercer County. The team of ten girls from Stuart's third and fourth grades went through remarkable growth this season, finishing the season 4-2 in the Small School Division. Throughout the season, the girls learned the fundamentals of basketball, from dribbling and passing, to the importance of playing tough defense (which often led to scoring opportunities) and the importance of ball control. For many of the girls, it was one of their first exposures to competitive basketball, and the sport taught them more than just basketball skills, but other important skills, such as how to work together as a team. Congratulations to the Junior Tartans on a great season!See photos in the slideshow below or in our photo gallery.
