The second grade displayed their talents and knowledge recently in their USA assembly and museum. In preparation for the museum and performance, the girls identified resources that would be helpful in their inquiry and used the resources effectively. Part of their research included explaining how weather, climate and other environmental characteristics affect people's lives in their region. Then using that information, the second graders created posters, dioramas, games, and wrote biographical passages about citizens from their state. Using their math skills, they created a timeline of significant events that occurred in each of the states, highlighting the cultural and environmental aspects and the diversity of the different regions. These were displayed in the USA museum open to the school. During the assembly, the girls sang, danced and read original works in a sensational performance, which received many compliments for their achievement. See photos from the event in the gallery.
