Hard work and dedication leads to number one seed in MCT for MS Tartans basketball

After a great win against Lawrence Middle School on Thursday, the Middle School Tartans basketball team earned the number one seed in the upcoming Mercer County Tournament with an 8–0 record for the season. Eighth grader Caroline Johnson had a season high 20 points while classmate Whizdom Williams controlled the game with her offensive and defensive rebounds. Coach Cortina said, "These girls understand teamwork, sharing the basketball, and working as a unit on the defensive end of the court. It was a close game and everyone contributed in this big victory."

The tournament begins with a home game on Monday, February 12 at 4:00 PM against the winner of the play-in game. In preparation for the MCT, the Tartans will go on the road against John Witherspoon on Monday, January 29, and against Hun on Tuesday. Next week they will return home against Pennington at 4:00 on Monday, February 5, followed by another away game against Princeton Charter on February 6 and their last regular season game at home against Ranney on February 8 at 4:15 PM. Come out and support our talented and hardworking Middle School Tartans basketball team!
