Author and icon of the American Civil Rights Movement, Ruby Bridges, was the first African American child to attend an all-white school in the American South. On Friday, Ms. Bridges spent many hours with our young women in the Upper School, and last year she spoke to Lower and Middle School girls, each time sharing her story and discussing issues surrounding justice and acceptance. Incredible experiences, such as meeting and learning from iconic women like Ruby Bridges, are part of what makes a Stuart so unique. Ms. Bridges has had a profound impact on our community and we extend our deep gratitude to her for sharing her personal story and prompting conversations around our own lives. See photos from her visit in the gallery.
