I am Stuart Proud. I am a friend, a leader, and a student
What are you most looking forward to this year as a senior?
As this is my last year in high school, I am looking forward to making the most of every day and every experience. I'm especially looking forward to the special senior trips and privileges that we have all been waiting for since freshman year. I also am excited for getting things accomplished in student government. I have been wanting to be the president since my first meeting as the freshman class president. It is finally my turn to lead! Getting into college would also be pretty great!
Having been at Stuart since Middle School, where have you seen the most personal growth in all those years?
I have grown a lot since Middle School. I have always been loud and bubbly, but in Middle School, I was way more of a follower than a leader. I often wanted to speak up and make my opinion known, but I don't think I had the confidence to do it. I had to learn that my opinion was valuable, and that if there was something I wanted to do, I should just do it. Some of my most memorable experiences have just been being goofy with my friends during free periods or Office Hours. We have grown so much closer over these past couple years, and we can make anything a fun time.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
If I could give my Middle School self some advice, I would say just go for it. The worst thing that could happen is that it doesn’t work out.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
In the future I hope to graduate from college and work at a job that I love. I hope to be enjoying life and finally be relaxed. As for a job, ideally I would be working as an animal care specialist at a conservation aquarium. But honestly doing anything that involves the ocean and helping animals would be fantastic!
