Stuart rings connect juniors forever with their senior and alumnae sisters

Students, faculty, parents and alumnae gathered in Cor Unum on Friday, December 14 for one of the most unique and special traditions at Stuart, the Junior Ring Ceremony. At this beautiful candlelit ceremony, juniors were given their class rings by seniors and alumnae family members. The ceremony opened with remarks from Stuart Executive President Rebekah Ten Hagen who reflected on Rose Philippine Duchesne's journey to America and its significance to the exchange of rings. "With the gesture of the giving of the ring and passing the flame, we continue the tradition of the Sacred Heart that Rose Philippine sacrificed everything for. To each person in this room, the ring has a slightly different meaning ... this small piece of metal is a symbol that you'll take with you wherever your journey leads you." In closing, she called on the juniors to look at their ring as "a reminder of their growth and accomplishment here. No matter where you go, your ring links you to this school. Although our actual geographic distances will vary once we graduate, our rings will allow us to remain equidistant from our traditions and friends at Stuart." Click here for photos.
