With two outstanding performances, Black heritage students in the Middle and Upper Schools presented HERSTORY 2020, a Black History Month celebration of Black history and culture. HERSTORY celebrates the power and promise of Black women and girls. Through artistic performances, students shared poignant stories and messages depicting the Black experience in America. Created and directed by Middle and Upper School English Teacher, Naimah Beyah, HERSTORY has become a valued work art and education within our Stuart community. The HERSTORY Planning Team includes faculty and staff members Robyn Henry, Amanda McCarther, Victoria Schierer, Angelina Howard, Mario Murray, Jan Baldwin and Stuart Middle School parent Tomia MacQueen. Additionally, under the leadership of Stuart Board of Trustees Chair Cheryl Lagay, the HERSTORY Parent Planning Team collaborated for our public performance of HERSTORY. This year's production included guest performances by Carolyn Watson Johnson Dance, Brittany Spanos, Kevin Broughton and Ivey Avery. Click here to watch the live stream of the event and see photos.
