National Center for Girls' Leadership at Stuart

Established in 2015, the National Center for Girls' Leadership at Stuart (NCGLS) works to support and empower the next generation of female leaders.

Through research, professional programming, and development of innovative EC-12 curriculum, Stuart serves as a resource to parents, students and educators throughout the world.

The Leadership Endorsement at Stuart

The National Center for Girls’ Leadership at Stuart Leadership Endorsement is a customized and personalized opportunity for each girl to leverage her unique passion and interests towards developing authentic leadership skills. During her four years as an Upper School Leadership Endorsement candidate, she will not only practice leadership skills and learn more about a content area of her choosing, but she will learn how to take a casual interest and conduct authentic, productive academic inquiry.

Service Learning Program

Central to the mission and identity of all Sacred Heart schools is a commitment to serve others as Goal Three calls Sacred Heart students to “a social awareness which impels to action.” Additionally, The National Center for Girls’ Leadership at Stuart is charged with delivering Stuart Country Day School’s mission to “prepare girls for lives of exceptional leadership and service.” Therefore, it is in service both to the mission of the Sacred Heart, and the mission of Stuart as an institution, that we support and sustain a cross-divisional, student-led, service learning program.

Women in Leadership Speaker Series - New Format!

The National Center for Girls' Leadership is pleased to announce a new format to the Women In Leadership Speaker Series. The 2020-2021 school year will bring three Women in Leadership panels to address topics related to STEM, Business, and Social Justice. Each panel will include professional women from within and outside the Stuart community and will be open to students in all three divisions. We hope these changes will create more community building and networking opportunities for our students and demonstrate that women are leading in all professional sectors! We are happy that the Women in Leadership Speaker Series will meet Goals 2 and 4 of the Sacred Heart Goals - and address all five of the NCGLS Leadership Standards: Values, Intellect, Agency, Collaboration, and Vision.
