Parent Involvement

Stuart Parent Association (SPA)

Stuart enjoys the support of a very active and enthusiastic parent organization. Parent involvement has been a key element to the success that can seen every day in the hallways at Stuart.

The Stuart Parent Association (SPA) welcomes your involvement and participation in the school’s activities. As a volunteer, you will find that each group seeks to foster the mission and values of Stuart and the Society of the Sacred Heart. Your involvement will be an enjoyable and personally rewarding experience.

Princeton Common Ground

Stuart is a member of Princeton Common Ground which sponsors a lecture series each year featuring distinguished speakers addressing topics related to child development, parenting, and education. The lectures are free of charge and open to the public.

Founded in 1998, the organization is made up of Parent Associations from 16 Princeton-area independent schools.

November 12 Lecture

Princeton Common Ground (PCG) is proud to host Dr. Marc Brackett, founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and Professor in the Child Study Center of Yale University. Brackett is the lead developer of RULER, an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning that has been adopted by nearly 2,000 pre-K through high schools across the United States and in other countries. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL).

Marc will be discussing his book, “Permission to Feel: Unlocking the Power of Emotions to Help Our Kids, Ourselves, and Our Society Thrive.” Supported by compelling research and powerful stories, Brackett outlines a blueprint for understanding emotions and using them wisely so that they help, rather than hinder, success and well-being.

With a fall semester underway unlike any other, the need to keep physical distance makes social emotional connectedness all the more important, especially for children and teens.  Marc will be sharing insights from his work and discuss why self-compassion and emotion regulation are key to coping with COVID-19.

Please join us for this interactive live webinar on Thursday, November 12th at 7PM moderated by Peter Quinn, Head of School at The Peddie School.

Many thanks to our Stuart Parents Association (SPA) for appreciating our faculty and staff!
I would like to send a quick note to thank our amazing Stuart Parent Association (SPA) for the lovely Teacher and Staff Appreciation Breakfast on Tuesday, May 7. Under President Ludwig Zabrouska's leadership and the creativity, coordination and support of incoming President Jennifer Teaney and her team, we were whisked away to a lovely Parisian cafe for a memorable morning of food, conversation and even chair massages!

"Thanks A Latte" to all of our parent volunteers!

This past Thursday, May 2, Stuart hosted our annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, also known as "Thanks-A-Latte." Stuart was happy to host many parent volunteers and offer them fresh brewed espresso drinks from the talented Benfatto Coffee baristas! Dr. Fagin, Christen Jones, and outgoing SPA President, Ludwig Zebrauskas, all shared their thanks for the incredible amount of time and effort that Stuart parents put into our school.
