After graduating from Stuart in 2004, Sarah Anne Pierpont moved to Indiana University Bloomington, transitioning from a small class to a vast campus. There, she engaged with the Honors College, theater, fine arts, and music, discovering diverse art-making approaches and forming connections with people of varied backgrounds.
Post-college, Sarah Anne lived in Chicago and New York before settling in Los Angeles, where she developed her skills as a cinematographer and camera operator. She has worked globally, focusing on underrepresented stories, and advocates for diversity in film through the International Collective of Female+ Cinematographers.
Living out Goal 3: A social awareness which impels to action, Sarah Anne’s work reflects her deep responsibility as a filmmaker. Pursuing an MFA enhanced her skills and network. She values mentoring emerging filmmakers and sharing impactful stories.
Sarah Anne toured with “The Always Sunny in Philadelphia Podcast Live!” in Europe and the US, and was honored with the Emerging Cinematographer Award from The International Cinematographers Guild for "Juliet." This recognition fuels her storytelling passion and advocacy for industry parity.
Supported by the Stuart community and her mother, Anne Pierpont, a long-standing Stuart rock star employee and an honorary alumna, Sarah Anne continues to use her craft to amplify diverse voices and promote positive change in filmmaking.
