How to Apply
Applying to Stuart is easy!
Below you will find detailed information about application requirements for students.
Interested in Stuart's Early Childhood Program? Apply online here.
All families interested in having a daughter attend Stuart are asked to visit campus for a personal tour and conversation during regular school hours. In addition, applicants to the Lower and Middle Schools will be asked to spend time in a classroom. Typically the classroom visit is scheduled on a different day than the personal tour and interview. However, special arrangements can be made to visit a classroom on the same day. Applicants accepted to the Upper School will be invited to attend Accepted Student Day on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
Stuart uses the Standard Application Online found at www.ssat.org. All families should follow the directions at www.ssat.org, using Stuart’s school code, 7534. It is in your best interest to complete and submit the Student Biographic Profile and the required application fee as early in the process as possible as these pieces of the application “trigger” the remaining pieces. The additional components of the application, including the transcript, teacher recommendations, and Stuart’s supplemental questionnaire, must be completed by January 31, 2020. After this time, applications will be accepted on the basis of space availability.
Applicants for Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten are asked to join us for an informal play and observation session. This session will allow our faculty to assess the individual child's development and school readiness. Sessions will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 9:00 AM and Tuesday, February 19 at 9:00 AM. Please call the Admissions Office to reserve a space for your child on one of these test administration dates.
Applicants for Grades 1–4 are asked to complete an on-site assessment to be administered at Stuart on Tuesday, February 18 at 9:00 AM and on Saturday, February 22 at 9:00 AM. Please call the Admissions Office to reserve a space for your daughter on one of the test administration dates.
Applicants for Grades 5–12 are asked to take the SSAT and release their scores directly to Stuart. Information about registering for and taking the test can be found at www.ssat.org.
