Raise Her Voice Programs

Leadership Summer Camp

The National Center for Girls' Leadership at Stuart hosts a leadership development camp (formerly known as Girls Take Charge) for rising fifth & sixth grade girls and rising seventh to ninth grade girls. The NCGLS recently acquired the research-based and award-winning Girls Take Charge camp experience after running a successful program together in 2021. This experience emphasizes the adolescent girl's development of self and voice through participation in fun and powerful activities that will uncover her strength, confidence, and ability to self-advocate.

Dates: June 13-17, July 18-22 (Note: Both weeks of camp are the same curriculum. Students are invited to attend both, but the program will be the same)

Grades: 5-9

raise her voice conference (formerly #leadlikeagirl)

The National Center for Girls' Leadership at Stuart rose to prominence across the United States in 2017 with the #LEADLIKEAGIRL conference. #LEADLIKEAGIRL: A Conference for Risk-Takers and Changemakers is a one-day event on the campus of Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart for girls in K-12, parents, educators and mentors. First held in 2017, #LEADLIKEAGIRL is designed to showcase and inspire girls’ confidence and creativity in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), entrepreneurism, finance and leadership.

The impact of #LEADLIKEAGIRL both in the local Princeton, NJ area and throughout the United States, affirmed the need for girls to have access to programming to foster their leadership development and career aspirations. Since the launch of the one-day conference, the National Center for Girls' Leadership at Stuart has hosted additional #LEADLIKEAGIRL workshops and camps to provide year-long programming to girls in grades K-12 and their families. It was at this time, under the leadership of director Bonnie Milecki, who joined Stuart in 2020, that the #LEADLIKEAGIRL brand would go through its own development to become Raise Her Voice.
