At Stuart, we believe girls are everything, and we build every part of her experience around who she is becoming.

When a girl first steps into the green halls of Stuart, she begins asking a question she'll carry for the rest of her life: what will I carry into the room when it's my turn to lead? Whether she arrives as a lower schooler or joins us later on her path to becoming a Stuart graduate, she'll spend her years here learning to think critically, act with purpose, and speak with courage. She'll find expert faculty who know girls well, and have a full life across the arts and athletics and a faith formation rooted in Sacred Heart goals. The National Center for Girls' Leadership at Stuart (NCGLS) works to support and empower the next generation of female leaders. We believe that the best leaders are balanced and must be able to care for themselves and others. The National Center’s K-12 curriculum is focused on developing the five key traits of sustainable leadership: values, intellect, agency, collaboration and vision.

Stuart Graduate Stories
While in the Upper School at Stuart, award-winning documentary filmmaker Rachel Lears ’95 aspired to do work at the intersection of scholarship, activism and creativity. She majored in music at Yale, then earned a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology, a Graduate Certificate in Culture and Media, and a PhD in Anthropology at NYU.
