Princeton, N.J. (September 21, 2007) – Political commentator and author Cokie Roberts will be the featured speaker at the Women in Leadership Forum event hosted by Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart on October 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The Women in Leadership Forum is a series of forums created to promote leadership among women in the greater Princeton area. Conceived by Stuart’s Headmistress as a way to provide girls with opportunities to interact with women role models; the Women in Leadership Forum initiative at Stuart stresses leadership skills development in women and young girls. The public is invited to attend this event free of charge.
“We are pleased to host Cokie Roberts at our third Women in Leadership Forum,” said Sr. Frances de la Chapelle, Headmistress of Stuart Country Day School. “She is an exceptional leader in the broadcasting field and as a Sacred Heart alumnae, Cokie will bring a fascinating perspective on values and leadership to the evening’s discussion.”
Cited by the American Women in Radio and Television as one of the fifty greatest women in the history of broadcasting, Roberts will discuss the role of women and value-centered leadership. She will offer her thoughts on how successful women have leveraged their personal values to be effective leaders. Author of “Our Mother’s Daughters” and “Founding Mothers,” Roberts will also discuss how values have historically played a key role in shaping our nation’s most prominent women.
The forum will consist of a 45-minute address by Roberts, followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Nora Muchanic, a reporter with WPVI-TV, will moderate the discussion session.
