Nominations Now Being Accepted for Executive Council 2008-2009

The Stuart Parent Association (SPA) is beginning to prepare the slate for the Executive Council for the forthcoming school year. The following positions will be available:

- President Elect
- Vice President of Communications
- Vice President of Outreach
- Pre School Representative
- Lower School Representative
- Middle School Representative
- Upper School Representative

If you would like to self-nominate or nominate another candidate, please print out and complete the nomination form. Please place your completed form in a sealed envelope and give it to the receptionist at the front desk.

The SPA nominating committee will meet during the first week of April. Please have your completed nomination form in by March 14, 2008 for consideration.

Prerequisite for Candidates to SPA Executive Council is any one of the following:

            1. Has been a parent at Stuart for at least two years
            2. Has been a class parent

            3. Has chaired or worked on at least one SPA sponsored event

Exception: Nominations for President Elect require candidate to be a current or past SPA Executive Council member.

President Elect: The President Elect is a President in training for one year, performing duties of the President if there is an absence of the President during his/her term. The President Elect will become President of the following year for a one-year term.

Vice President of Communications: The VP is responsible for suggesting and preparing material for parents’ understanding of school functions. Works with Webmaster and Public Relations Department to coordinate circulation of parent-targeted materials.

Vice President of Outreach: The VP is responsible for informing the parent body of volunteer opportunities for both adults and/or families.

Preschool Representative: The preschool Representative shall act as a liaison between the parents, class parents, their respective heads of school, and the Executive Council. This is a two-year term, overlapping with an experienced Preschool Representative.

Lower School Representative: The Lower School Representative shall act as a liaison between the parents, class parents, their respective heads of school, and the Executive Council. This is a two-year term, overlapping with an experienced Lower School Representative.

Middle School Representative: The Middle School representative shall act as a liaison between the parents, class parents, their respective heads of school, and the Executive Council. This is a two-year term, overlapping with an experienced Middle School Representative.

Upper School Representative: The Upper School Representative shall act as a liaison between the parents, class parents, their respective heads of school, and the Executive Council. This is a two-year term, overlapping with an experienced Upper School Representative.
