In their last full week of school, the young women of the Stuart Class of 2017 participated in Stuart's third annual FaithJustice Xperience. This service trip is part of the senior theology course, Faith and Social Justice. The seniors spent the entire week at the Center for FaithJustice in Lawrenceville, where they broke into groups to work on daily community service projects for one of six nonprofits in the Trenton area: Isles, One Simple Wish, Catholic Youth Organization, Jennye Stubblefield Senior Center, Sprout State University, and Visitation Home. Each evening, the girls reconvened for discussion and reflection activities and in the mornings they led prayers and reflections. In addition, the seniors cooked all of their own meals and lived in an intentional community while discussing difficult issues of social injustice, inequality, and how they could use their own gifts and talents to become leaders in the world. This senior service trip truly embodies all five of the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria as our "almost graduates" strive to live what they learn and believe.
