Stuart's First Lego League Team, the Spark Plugs, competed in a tournament last Saturday, December 2 at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City. The team was judged on the design of their robot, the quality of their teamwork, and a project that they designed to help solve a problem in the human water cycle. The girls emerged from their project presentation session jubilant and excited after sharing their idea for a smart tap that tracks water usage. They received top marks on their research and the creativity of their presentation!
The event culminated in a performance on the robot challenge table. Their first run was a little rocky, but after some troubleshooting in the pit, the team managed to double their score by the third. The teamwork they used to achieve this was notable!
The first competition experience was a blast. The team left on Saturday evening with renewed enthusiasm and can't wait to keep improving their design and coding skills in the future!
