About the Conference

#LEADLIKEAGIRL: A Conference for Risk-Takers and Changemakers is a one-day event on the campus of Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart for girls in K-12, parents, educators and mentors. First held in 2017, #LEADLIKEAGIRL is designed to showcase and inspire girls’ confidence and creativity in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), entrepreneurism, finance and leadership. The conference is presented by The National Center for Girls’ Leadership at Stuart.

In July, 2018, Stuart was honored with the prestigious international CASE Circle of Excellence Award for #LEADLIKEAGIRL. A panel of experts selected Stuart’s entry in the Single Day Event category from among 71 entries. Other winners in this category included Clemson University, University of Miami, Duke University, and University of Southern California.

Stuart has hosted nearly 1,000 K-12 students, parents, educators, and mentors from across the country every year for #LEADLIKEAGIRL. The conference has featured over 100 speakers at 65 presentations, workshops and panels. Young women in high school have also been awarded $10,000 in cash prizes through competitions in STEM Talks and a Business Fair.
