The JV lacrosse team will be hosting Solebury on Weds. at 4p on the Stuart turf.

The upper school track team was a little unlucky in the Patriot Conference Championship on Fri. 5/1. Stuart finished second to Pennington by a score of 126-121. Stuart had strong individual performances and a great effort by everyone. We just weren't as deep as Pennington in a couple of the events. But Pennington had a great performance to capture the title.

The scoring for Stuart was as follows:

100M=1st & 3rd
200M=1st & 4th
400M=1st
800M=1st
1600M=3rd

Today the team is competing at Ranney.

The middle school lacrosse teams have been busy. The Tartans and Whites split at Grover MS...with the Tartans winning the first game and the Whites losing.

The Whites brought home a victory over Ranney on Tues.

On Fri. the Whites lost to a strong Princeton Charter team and the Greens won.

Yesterday, the Whites lost a close one to Chapin and the Greens won by a decisive score.

The Whites host Ranney today and the Tartans and Greens will host Rumson on Thurs.

The middle school track team has been gaining valuable experience. On Tues. they competed at Bridgewater MS and scoring was as follows:

Thank you for your support!

April 28

The past week was busy for both the upper and middle school spring teams.

The varsity lacrosse team came up against 2 very strong teams on Tues. and Weds. Stuart lost to Peddie 13-8 and then Hopewell Valley 14-7. Fortunately, they were able to regroup and defeat Ranney on Fri., in the Prep B semi final game. Stuart dominated the game, scoring 17 goals to Ranney's 5. Stuart had good distribution of scoring and it was good team effort from one end of the field to the other. Stuart is seeded #1 in the Prep B tournament and their record currently stands at 8 wins 4 loses. Stuart will play the winner of the Pennington vs Rutgers Prep game in the Prep B championship.

Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast (thunderstorms in the afternoon) the game vs. Bryn Mawr was canceled today and will not be rescheduled. We hope to be able to make arrangements next year to play this Sacred Heart school in basketball and lacrosse.

The seeding for the Mercer County Girls Lacrosse Tournament comes out in the next couple of days.....we will keep you posted.

The JV lacrosse team had a nice win over the Metro Lacrosse team from Boston on Mon.

Members of the upper school track team had the wonderful experience of competing in the Penn Relays, which is the largest and oldest track meet in the USA. The Stuart runners were super pysched and performed beautifully in the 4x100 relay, setting a new school record.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as smoothly in the 4x400 relay. Stuart had a difficult start position in the 22 team field. Stuart's lead off runner did well to get out. Stuart's second runner fell when a runner in front of her dropped her baton and caused a pile up. But the Stuart runner showed true grit by getting back on her feet and completing her leg of the relay. Our 3rd and 4th runners ran well and without the time lost in the fall, Stuart might have broken another school record.

The Upper School track team will defend their Patriot Conference title on Fri. at Pennington. Come by to support the team! The championship hasn't been in this local area for quite some time.

The middle school lacrosse teams had a tough match up with PDS on Mon. The Tartans lost to a strong PDS squad and the Whites had a late rally to tie 5-5. The Tartans rebounded on Tues. with a decisive victory over powerhouse Bridgewater MS.

On Fri. the Whites lost to an athletic "A Team" from Princeton Charter School and the Greens came from behind to settle for a 6-6 tie with their "B Team". The Whites take their game on the road on Tues. 4/29 when they travel to Ranney.

The middle school track team will run at Bridgewater MS on Tues. 4/29 and then at Crossroads MS on Fri. 5/2.

Thank you for your support!

April 21

Fri. was a great day for Stuart lacrosse!

The Varsity Stuart team defeated L'Ville 12-6! Stuart was ahead 6-4 at the half and played super defense in the second half to bring home the victory. The Stuart goalie had some terrific saves (10 total).  It was a wonderful team effort, which is what it takes to defeat a strong team like L'Ville.

The middle school Tartans defeated a much improved Readington team. The Stuart team had balanced scoring and good defense throughout the game.

The middle school Whites team also defeated Readington.

The Tartans and Whites take their game across the street to tackle PDS this afternoon.

Thank you for your support!

April 18

The Stuart varsity lacrosse team had a nice "come from behind" victory over Morristown Beard on Weds. Stuart wanted to bounce back from the PDS loss on Mon., but started out a little sluggish. Stuart was having difficulty controlling the ball on the draw in the first half and Mo Beard was on attack constantly. The Stuart goalie didn't have her best half and Mo Beard was ahead at half time 10-8. In the second half, the Stuart goalie made some terrific low saves and Stuart did a better job of controlling the draw. This combination allowed Stuart to win 19-15 against a very quick and talented Morristown Beard squad.

The Stuart JV dropped a tough game to Mo Beard.

Today, the Stuart laxers host L'Ville....varsity at 4:15p with JV to follow.

The Stuart upper school track team had a very good showing at Gil on Weds. against Immaculata, Timothy Christian, and Gil. Gil won the meet with 90 points and Stuart was a close second with 85 points.

Stuart took first place in the 100M, 200M, and long jump
Stuart took first place in the shot and discus
Stuart took first place in the hurdles

The middle school lacrosse Tartans and Whites teams had very exciting rematches vs. Timberlane yesterday. Timberlane had defeated our Tartans early in the season, but Stuart played a great game and won yesterday. The score was tied at 9 apiece and then the Tartans went on to win by 4 or 5 goals.

The Whites were down 0-4 to Timberlane in the first half. They fought back to tie it up 8-8, but Timberlane then went on to win 10-9. It was a great game.

The middle school Tartans and Whites travel to Readington this afternoon.

Thank you for your support!

April 15

The varsity lacrosse team had a thrilling game on Fri. vs. Hun. The game went back and forth, but Stuart prevailed and won 14-13, in the closing minutes of regulation. Hun is an outstanding team and this was a huge victory for Stuart.

Yesterday, the Stuart varsity came up against a totally different style of play when PDS came across the street. PDS played a "ball control", slower tempo which took the ball out of the very talent Stuart attack players hands. PDS was ahead 2-1 at halftime and went on to win 7-4. Stuart didn't play their sharpest game and that's what you need to have in place when you go up against a strong team like PDS.

The Stuart varsity will be home all week with games on Weds. vs. Morristown Beard at 4p and again on Fri. vs. L'Ville at 4:15p.

The Stuart JV lacrosse team lost to Hun on Fri., but bounced back and beat PDS 13-8 in a well played game.

The Stuart middle school Tartans and Whites hosted Grover MS on Fri. The Tartans completely dominated Grover, winning 12-5. The Whites did not fare as well, losing to a strong Grover squad.

The Whites came back on Mon. to soundly defeat Chapin 7-4. The Whites were ahead 3-2 at halftime and pulled away in the second half.

The Greens middle school lacrosse team opened their season with a win over Chapin 9-3. The Greens goalkeepers were impressive as well as the midfield.  The Greens will take the field again 4/25 when they travel to Princeton Charter School.

The middle school track team opened their season yesterday against Pond Rd MS at Robbinsville HS track. I haven't gotten those results yet...but will share them when I do.

Thank you for your support!

April 11

The Stuart upper school track team had a great day yesterday in a tri meet with Peddie and Pennington at Peddie.   Two weeks ago Pennington soundly defeated Stuart and yesterday Stuart defeated Prep B rival Pennington.  That's a great deal of improvement in just two weeks.  Peddie beat Stuart,  but we scored very well.  The next meet is next Weds. at Prep B rival, Gil.

100 meter:Stuart =1st & 2nd

200 meter: Stuart=1st & 2nd

400 meter: Stuart=1st

Long Jump: Stuart=1st

Discus: Stuart=1st

The varsity and JV lacrosse teams will host Hun on the Stuart turf this afternoon...varsity at 4p with JV to follow.

The middle school Tartans and Whites are hosting Grover MS on the Stuart grass fields this afternoon....Tartans at 3:45p with Whites to follow.

Middle School track will open their season on Mon. vs Pond Rd MS @ Robbinsville HS.  They will need a 2:30p early dismissal.

Thank you for your support!

April 10

The varsity lacrosse team played a very impressive game yesterday at PHS. Stuart won 15-4 and dominated in every aspect of the game. The defense was stifling and the Stuart goalie was solid as a rock in the goal. Stuart was off and running in the first half with some dazzling fast breaks. In the second half, they slowed things down and ran their half field offense to perfection. Hopefully, they can take that level of play into the game tomorrow vs. Hun on the Stuart turf field at 4p

The Stuart JV lacrosse team lost a heart breaker 7-6. Once again, the Stuart goalie played well in the goal, but the defense was a little sloppy which cost them some goals.

The upper school track team competed in a tri-meet at George School on Tues. George School defeated Stuart by a mere 10 points and the NJ School for the Deaf was a distant third.

The upper school track team runs at Peddie today....GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

The middle school lacrosse teams will host Grover MS Fri. 4/11 on the Stuart grass fields. Tartans at 3:45p with Whites to follow.

Thank you for your support!

April 9

The varsity lacrosse team played a great game yesterday against Prep B rival, Rutgers Prep. Stuart was up 6-1 at the half and went on to win 14-3.

The Stuart JV lacrosse team also played very well against Rutgers Prep, winning 7-0.

The varsity and JV laxers play local rival PHS away this afternoon. This should be a good match up.

The middle school laxers won yesterday. The Tartans and Whites both defeated Readington on the Stuart turf by fairly significant scores.

Thank you for your support!

April 8

The Stuart varsity lacrosse team hosted George School on Fri. on the Stuart turf. Stuart was ahead at halftime 10-7 and then broke open the game in the second half, winning 20-10.

The JV laxers played well, winning 9-3 over George School on Fri.

The Varsity and JV laxers are traveling to Prep B rival, Rutgers Prep today. They will need a 2:15p early dismissal.

The upper school track team will travel across the Delaware River to compete at the George School today. They hope to keep their momentum going after a successful showing at the Prep Relays last week. They will need a 2:30p early dismissal today.

The middle school lacrosse teams are coming off tough opening game loses to Timberlane. The Tartans lost a close 2 goal difference game and the Whites ran out of gas in the second half and lost after being ahead 4-1 at halftime.

Both the Tartans and Whites will be back out on the field this afternoon against Readington. The games will be played on the Stuart turf. Tartans at 3:45p with the Whites to follow.

The middle school track season will open on Mon. 4/14 @ Robbinsville HS vs Pond Rd. Middle School.

Thank you for your support!

April 4

The varsity lacrosse team lost a 7-8 nail bitter on Weds. at Roxbury. Roxbury jumped out to an early lead and Stuart got within 1 at halftime. Stuart took the lead but Roxbury took advantage of several Stuart turnovers to finish with a one goal victory.

Stuart V&JV lacrosse will host George School this afternoon on the turf...varsity at 4p with JV to follow.

The Stuart upper school track team had a good showing at the Prep Relays at L'Ville on Weds. Stuart set a new school record in the 4x200 relay and 3x400 intermediate hurdles. Stuart took first place in the shuttle hurdles. A really exciting aspect of the 4x200 relay  and the 400 Intermediate hurdles is that all the runners are underclassmen.

The Stuart middle school Tartan and Whites lacrosse teams will open their season this afternoon at Timberlane. Tartans at 3:45p with Whites at 4:45p.

Thank you for your support!

April 2

CONGRATULATIONS TO TWO MEMBERS OF THE STUART BASKETBALL TEAM FOR BEING NAMED TO THE "STAR LEDGER" ALL PREP THIRD ALL STAR TEAM !!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE STUART VARSITY BASKETBALL COACH FOR BEING NAMED "COACH OF THE YEAR" BY THE STAR LEDGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Stuart varsity lacrosse team opened their season with a win over Pennington yesterday. The Stuart goalkeeper had 10 saves and six different Stuart players scored goals in the victory.

Hopefully, the team can tighten up their defense and continue the offensive power when they travel to Roxbury HS today.

The upper school track team will be competing in the NJ State Prep Track Relays at Lawrenceville this afternoon. This is always a great event with 12 of the Prep A & Prep B schools competing.

The upper school track team opened their season on Mon. at Pennington.  It was very close meet with Stuart coming in second behind Pennington 51-67.  Stuart performed very well in the long jump, sprints and shot putt.

Thank you for your support!

March 30

The Stuart lacrosse team was busy over spring break. They hosted Notre Dame and Ewing HS in scrimmages on the Stuart turf. Stuart controlled both of those scrimmages. On Sat. Stuart participated in the Bobby Campbell Lacrosse Playday at Princeton HS and played four modified games. Stuart played well against Bishop Eustice, Wyoming Seminary and the Virginia Rebels. Archbishop Carrol, from Phila. area really challenged the Stuart squad.

The Virginia Rebels, a team from the Richmond area, stayed over and Sunday scrimmaged Stuart again on our turf. It was a good match and nice tune up for the upcoming lacrosse season. Stuart will open their season on Tues. with a varsity only game at Pennington.

The Stuart track team was also working hard over the spring break preparing for the spring season. Stuart will open on Mon. 3/31 at Pennington in a tri -meet involving Pennington, Stuart and New Egypt HS.

March 13

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE STUART MIDDLE SCHOOL ...THEY RAISED $747 FOR THE "V FOUNDATION". Feb. 26 Stuart Middle School and PASH students participated in a "Basketball Shootout" fundraiser to benefit the "V Foundation" for cancer research. The "V Foundation" was established in memory of Jimmy Valvano who was the men's basketball coach at NC State and died of cancer.

The Stuart and PASH students got pledges for the number of baskets they could make in one minute. The young people handled themselves extremely well and the project was a great success. We hope to make it an annual event. We can all be so proud of our young men and women of the Sacred Heart!

Thank you for your support!

February 20

The Stuart varsity basketball team finished their season yesterday. Unfortunately, they ended with a 3 point loss to West Windsor North. The game could not have been any closer. The lead changed continually throughout the game. Stuart could not buy a basket in the first quarter, although they had created some terrific opportunities to put points on the board.

This has been one of the most successful basketball seasons Stuart has had in quite some time. Stuart has always competed in the Prep B tournament and this year, for the first time, in the Mercer County Tournament. We are very proud of the team and all that they have accomplished. Graduating only one senior, the future looks very bright for Stuart basketball.

A recent Stuart graduate, will be competing in the NCAA National Squash Tournament this weekend at Jadwin Gym on the Princeton University campus. She is playing in the #7 position on Dartmouth's team which is currently ranked #6 in the country. Dartmouth will open vs. Yale Fri. 2/22 at 2:30p and Sat. 2/23 at 9am vs Brown. If you get a chance, stop by to see this great competition.

February 19

THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE..... the Stuart varsity basketball team will play their last home basketball game today, Tues. 2/19 @ 4:30p vs. West Windsor North. This is a consolation game in the Mercer County Tournament. Stuart was nervous and gave up 12 points in the opening two minutes of the Mercer County Tournament game at #3 seed Steinert on Fri. night. The young Stuart squad fought hard, but could never close that gap.

Stuart played their best game of the season on Sunday in the Prep B semi final game at Rutgers Prep. Stuart was within two points at halftime. This was the third time this season that Stuart played Rutgers Prep and every game was a better contest. Rutgers Prep pulled away with some 3 pointers in the final quarter, but it was a great game.

The Stuart varsity basketball team played a super game yesterday in the first round of the Mercer County Tournament. Stuart hosted Lawrence HS, a team that had defeated Stuart earlier in the regular season. Stuart opened up a nice lead in the second quarter and never looked back. Lawrence HS closed to within 7 points during the 3rd quarter, but Stuart finished with a 61-49 victory.

In the Mercer County tournament, the Stuart team will face #3 seed Steinert at their house on Fri. 2/15...the tentative time of the game is 5:45p, but we confirm that tomorrow.

The Stuart team is also playing in the NJ State Prep B tournament and they will travel to the #1 seed Rutgers Prep on Sun. 2/17 for a 3p game.

Thank you for your support!

February 8

The Stuart varsity basketball team played a super game at Lawrenceville last night. This is the first time in over a decade that Stuart has beaten Lawrenceville. The Stuart team were lightening quick and tenacious on defense, which generated lots of offensive opportunities. Their unselfish style was very impressive.

Hopefully, this momentum will continue into the two tournaments that we are playing in simultaneously. Stuart will host Saddle River on Sat. 2/9 at noon in the quarter finals of the NJ State Prep B tournament. If we are fortunate enough to win, we would then go to Rutgers Prep on Sun. 2/17...time TBA.

Stuart will host Lawrence HS in the opening round of the Mercer County Tournament Tues. 2/12 @ 4:30p. If we are fortunate enough to win, we would then play the winner of the Hightstown/Steinert game...site/time TBA.

The Stuart squash team will depart Stuart at 1p today to travel to The Hill School in Pa.

The Stuart middle school basketball teams had their hands full yesterday. The Tartans had a rematch with Allentown and played much better than the first meeting, but still lost by 11. The Tartans fell behind by 10 at half, and rallied in the second half to cut the lead to 5, but Allentown came back and won the game.

The Tartans play again at home on Mon. 2/11 @ 3:45p vs Applegarth MS.

The Stuart Greens team were very nervous and fell behind early 0-12, but solidified their defense and came back to within 4 points, losing 14-18.

The Whites team gave a good effort but lost to Rutgers Prep.

The Whites and Greens (Sophie squad) will play again on Tues. 2/12 at Hun. The Whites will play first at 3:45p with the Greens to follow at approximately 4:45p.

The Stuart middle school will be having a basketball shootout fundraiser to benefit the "V Foundation" for Cancer Research on Tues. 2/26 3:15p-4:45p at the Stuart Gym. See any middle school student who is participating to make your pledge!

Thank you for yours support!

February 7

The varsity basketball team played a real powerhouse team from Rutgers Prep yesterday. This was a make up game from Fri. 2/1. Stuart was only down by 5 at halftime, but Rutgers Prep pulled away in the second half.

Stuart will play at Lawrenceville tonight at 6:30p. This should be a great game for the young Stuart squad.

On Sat. 2/9, Stuart will be hosting Saddle River at 2p in the quarter finals of the Prep B Girls Basketball tournament. If we are fortunate enough to win, we would travel back to Rutgers Prep on Sun. 2/17....time TBA.

On Tues. 2/12, Stuart will be hosting Lawrence HS at 4:30p in the first round of the Mercer County tournament. If we are fortunate enough to win, we would play the winner of the Hightstown vs Steinert game on Fri. 2/15....site and time TBA.

It is very exciting to be playing in both tournaments simultaneously....GOOD LUCK AND PLAY WELL!!!!!!!!!

The Stuart squash team had a nice win yesterday over the Blair JV program. Stuart won all six matches. Hopefully, they can keep the momentum going when they travel to Hill School on Fri. 2/8....1p early dismissal.

A senior represented Stuart in the NJ State Prep Swimming Championships yesterday at Lawrenceville. She was seeded #13 out of 45 swimmers entered in the 200 yard IM and #13 out of 54 swimmers entered.

Another senior represented Stuart in the NJ State Prep Indoor Track Championships that were also held at Lawrenceville yesterday. She ran in the 55 meter, the 200 and the 400 meter dash and finished 4th or 5th in each of her races.

Both girls handled themselves beautifully. There were 15 prep school teams at the championships and hundreds of athletes. Competing as an individual amongst all those teams can be intimidating. Our individuals don't have the support of a team, but we can be so proud of them and their performances. Congratulations girls!!!!!!!!!!!

The Stuart middle school basketball teams are on the road today. The Whites are at Rutgers Prep and the Tartans and Greens are playing at Allentown.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your support!

Congratulations to the Stuart varsity basketball team who have been seeded #6 out of 16 teams in the Mercer County Tournament!!!!! Stuart has not been involved the county tournament for at least 10 years. This is a huge accomplishment for the young squad. They will host Lawrence HS on Tues. 2/12 @ 4:30pm. January 22

On Fri. 1/18, the Stuart varsity basketball team played a super game against Prep B powerhouse, Pennington.  Stuart went through a drought in the second quarter and only put 2 points on the board.  But by the closing minutes of the game, Stuart was on the foul line with an opportunity to bring themselves within one point and possession of the ball.  Unfortunately, Stuart had exhausted so much energy in the comeback that they missed all the shots from the line.  Pennington went on to win the game, but the young Stuart team sent a clear message that they have improved tremendously and could compete with anyone.

Sat. 1/19 Stuart took on a Mercer County powerhouse, West Windsor South.  It was apparent that Stuart was still tired from the Pennington game and W. W. South was just good, big, fast and strong.  Hopefully, the Stuart team learned a lot from the past week of challenging competition and will put it to good use.

Stuart hosts PDS this afternoon at 4:15p.  Stuart defeated PDS at their house 1/11 and hopefully, can get the job done again today.  When Stuart played at PDS, they played in front of one of the largest crowds for a girls game that we had seen in quite awhile.  Let’s get a good, supportive crowd in the stands this afternoon!!!!!!!!!

The Stuart squash team will travel to L’Ville this afternoon for a 4p match.
