Drama

The Drama curriculum begins in third grade and is designed to help students develop creative expression, concentration, poise, teamwork, and self-confidence.  At each grade level, students have an opportunity to perform a short theatrical piece, often in conjunction with the music department.  Each year in fifth and eighth grade, a full musical production is mounted.

In the Middle School, students explore playwriting and theatre history.  In the Upper School, students may participate in a dramatic production in the fall and/or the musical production in the spring.  Students are also given the opportunity to work at improvisation, playwriting, participate in an Upper School One-Act Play Competition, and a myriad of other creative activities.  Upper School drama classes include:  Acting, Directing, Musical Theatre, Film, and Stagecraft.  Technology is used in age-appropriate theatre and film classes.
