Poetry in Motion 5K Run for Vickie Flournoy McCarthy '71

On May 3, the parents, staff and students have organized “Poetry in Motion,” a 5K run to honor Mrs. McCarthy and to raise funds to support the visiting authors program she dreamed of creating. According to Kathleen Gittleman, the chair of the event, there will be a 5K for adults and shorter runs for children age 10 and under.

The adult run will start on the grounds of Stuart Country Day School. The children’s runs will take place on the Long Family Field.  Registration begins at 8 a.m. and events begin at 8:45 a.m. Races will be held rain of shine.
