Extended-Day & Summer Programs

ESL CLASSES AT STUART

Begining Oct. 29, 2007

We are happy to announce that Stuart will offer two English as a Second Language classes for students and parents for whom English is not a primary language.  Improved fluency in conversation as well as specific academic skills will be integrated into the program.  A standardized placement test will help determine areas of focus for each student. The focus of the adult class will be conversation.  Both classes will be coeducational, and Stuart families will have priority for registration. Please send the completed registration form and fee to Anne P. Pierpont, Assistant Headmistress.  Deadline: October 24, 2007. Classes will be held at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart.

SUMMER AT STUART

Each year Stuart offers a comprehensive summer program that includes academic enrichment, arts activities, athletic camps, and a day camp for children aged 4-18. The program is coeducational, (with the exception of the athletic camps which are for girls only), and is open to Stuart and non-Stuart children in the Princeton area. The program runs from mid-June to mid-August and children may sign up for a variety of activities over the course of the program.

After-School Program

The After-School Program is available to Stuart students preschool through grade 8. It begins at 3:10 pm and ends at 6:00 pm. The program is divided into two semesters and enrollment is required prior to the beginning of each semester. “Drop-ins” may be accepted in cases of emergency and/or with prior permission. Students may be enrolled for as many as five days or as few as one.

The program consists of supervised structured and unstructured playtime, a nutritious snack, group activities and, for the older children, time for homework if requested by the parents. In addition, parents can sign their children up for special workshops and classes through the After School Enrichment Program

Since we are concerned about the proper supervision of the children after regular dismissal, any child who misses her bus or who has not been picked up by 3:30 pm will be taken to the After-School program and parents will be billed accordingly. Children who are not picked up immediately after any After School Enrichment Program, will be taken to the regular After-School Program to await pick-up.
