Lower School
The Lower School is comprised of kindergarten through Grade 5, and includes The Pre-School at Stuart. The Pre-School at Stuart is a coeducational program accepting boys and girls ages 3 to 5. Please go to The Pre-School at Stuart for more detailed information on the preschool program.
Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart offers an all-girls' educational experience from kindergarten through Grade 12.
Kindergarten through Grade 5
In an open, trusting environment, the child is encouraged to question, to contribute, and to launch out. The teachers guide each young girl at her own level of progress toward new experiences and insights. Reading, mathematical projects and games, religion classes, art, music, drama, and physical education are coordinated to promote an understanding of people and the enjoyment of learning.
Community is an essential element in the life of a Lower School child; the children and their teachers form one large community in which concern for each child is the pivotal point. During the Lower School years, each child begins to find herself, her own bent, her interests, and her talents. She begins to realize the best way to find herself is to "give herself away" in response to the needs and concerns of others.
