Community Service

The philosophy at Stuart includes the conviction that a truly educated woman responds to the needs of others through specific action motivated by her faith. The Community Service Program is designed to help students learn about the different needs of the community and to respond to these needs with their gifts. The goal of the program, in support of the Sacred Heart tradition, is to educate to a social awareness that impels to action and social change. All Students in the Upper School have an ongoing community service requirement of 50 hours per year. During a student's four years, she spends a minimum of two years working on a project outside of school and at least one year involved with the economically and/or socially disadvantaged.

Sacred Heart and International Exchange

Individual Upper School students may study for a trimester or longer at a Sacred Heart school in another state or foreign country. Reciprocal group exchanges are held each year with international Sacred Heart schools. We also participate in AFS, an international student exchange program
