Facilities Tour

Stuart's building is set into a gentle slope on 55 wooded acres on the outskirts of Princeton, New Jersey. It was designed by Princeton University Professor Jean Labutut, former Head of the Graduate School of Architecture, whose modernist style is characterized by a great sensitivity to the wild beauty of the site. His idea was to build, in the heart of a forest, a school in which the demarcation line between the natural world and the man-made world of the building was barely discernible. His design of poured concrete and green brick features large windows in all of the original classrooms. The classroom addition, completed in September 1993, blends seamlessly with Labutut's original design.

Lower, Middle and Upper School classrooms are grouped around their respective community centers. The building also contains a spacious reception hall, a dining room, a small chapel, a theater, choral/instrumental music rooms, four state-of-the-art science laboratories, three newly-equipped computer rooms, studios for art, photography and ceramics, numerous offices, faculty workrooms and a faculty/parent seminar room. The entire facility is networked, and all classrooms have computers with internet access.
