Libraries
The Raissa Maritain Library serves both the Middle and Upper Schools of Stuart. The purpose of the library is to provide physical and intellectual access to information and resources, and to provide a selective collection of materials to support the educational goals of Stuart. The recently renovated library now includes plenty of study areas, a periodical reading area and an AV/multimedia room for classes to use.
The collection comprises approximately 16,000 items, as well as subscriptions to 60 print periodicals. The library is networked to the rest of Stuart, and has Internet access. Access to many more periodicals, and other research tools, are available through the Internet. The library maintains a web site with the latest information on projects and resources, bibliography samples, book lists, and other library resources.
The Leonard Etz Memorial Library serves the Lower School and Pre-School. This beautiful, bright new space in the Lower School's home to 8000 books, age-appropriate periodicals, computers for web research, and a discussion area for book talks. The Lower School Library's web page contains carefully screened links to resources for curricular projects.
