Art Studios

The Visual Arts Department's airy new Art Center includes lots of gallery space for displaying and critiquing works in progress. The Lower School art program is housed in a large, well-lit room which features a separate seating area for reading and reflection. A large studio and a second smaller studio are shared by the Middle and Upper Schools. The new photography lab comprises a darkroom and a processing room. The ceramics studio is equipped with new wheels and a new kiln.  The art library is housed in the art history classroom, which also contains computers equipped with digital imaging and video editing software.

The Lower School and Middle School have set curricula for Art. Upper School students may choose from elective courses such as Foundations of Art, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Digital Imaging, Design, Photography, Ceramics, and Art History. Stuart also offers the AP portfolio in Studio Art.
