  • Dr. John Barker, Face and Hand Transplant Surgeon, Speaks to MS and US Students

    Dr. John Barker, founder of the Plastic Surgery Research Laboratory at the University of Louisville visited the MS and US science students this week.

    Interested students learned a great deal about what’s involved in medical and ethical research associated with transplantation, as well as a discussion of the significance of research associated with immunosuppression. His presentation included heartbreaking images of the various types of transplants from resurfacing and skin grafting to hand and face transplants.

  • Thanks for Serving at Loaves and Fishes

    Some folks made brownies and some folks made centerpieces. Some folks baked chicken, while others donated hats and gloves. Some folks delivered and served the food, and some folks washed the pots. Some folks donated money or mashed potatoes or lunch meat, while others made sandwiches. Some folks visited with the dinner guests, and some folks swept up the floors.
